It is no secret, the sun can be hot and brutal in the summer months. Your skin may not dry out, but there are other factors at work that can cause havoc to your complexion. Taking a few steps to coverup and protect yourself and clean out your pores can go a long way to your overall long-term health. The Surgeon General has stated skin-cancer is on the rise and a major threat to the health of the general public. One of the major reasons for this is the lack of attention people give the sun and its ability to destroy your skin. Sun-damage is on of the leading causes of skin-cancer an premature aging. Using these steps will keep you and your skin safe and healthy to keep looking good for years to come.
1. PREPARE & COVER UP
Sometimes preparation can be jus as essential ast any skincare item. If you are outside in the sun all day such as at the beach or on the golf course, you should really try to minimize your skin's exposure to the sun by covering up as much as possible. Whether you wear a hat, sit under an umbrella, wear UV sleeves or a rashgaurd while in the water, any steps you take to keep the sun off your skin will do wonders to keeping your skin healthy. Look for a breathable and SPF boosted materials.
2. USE SPF DAILY
The biggest defense against premature aging and other skin damage is SPF. Dermatologists recommend applying a sunscreen of at least 30 SPF to protect the skin against its dangerous UV rays and radicals. Although the signs of damage may not be apparent while you’re young in your 20s and 30s, they will be later. Luckily, with our skincare you don’t need to worry about both steps. We’ve got you covered with our Moisturizer: Hydrator + SPF30+ that gives you both benefits of a moisturizer and sunscreen in one. Apply in the morning and at night, and throughout the day if you’re getting lots of sun.
3. USE AN SPF BOOSTED LIP BALM
Even though your lips may only be chapped in the winter does not mean that your lips are not exposed, or effected by the elements in the hot summer months as well. Your lips are some of the thinnest skin on your body, and they are always exposed. Make sure you protect your lips everyday to keep them soft, moist and healthy while also protected from harmful UV rays. Make sure you choose a Lip Balm that is SPF boosted such as Game Day's Mint Lip Balm + SPF15. This is essential as sun-damage leads to premature aging and potentially skin cancer and other skin disease. Make sure to apply regularly throughout the day to keep your skin protected.
4. POST SUN CARE (ELIMINATE FREE RADICALS)
After you get in from the sun you should really try to get rid of the free radicals in the skin that will be inventible from a day in the sun. These free radicals lead to show the effects of sun-damage to the skin. Game Day's Charging Spray: Energizing Facial Tonic has Black Tea Extract to help break-up free radicals and keep your skin looking young and healthy for years to come.
